Blackmar Technologies

As the technology arm of Blackmar Consulting, Blackmar Technologies builds custom technology solutions for financial services companies. After seeing how many modern financial institutions were still relying on Excel, manual data entry, and outdated systems, the Blackmar leadership team decided it was time to bring their clients into the 21st century. Blackmar Technologies has offices in Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.

Problem

When the Blackmar team approached us, they needed us to build a new identity system for the technology division of their company, which they were forming as a separate entity. The team wanted their new identity system to feel unique and reminiscent of a start-up like venture (in the hopes of attracting top engineering talent), while also reflecting the established brand we had developed for Blackmar Consulting. Furthermore, the team wanted to create a new set of collateral that was aimed strictly at investors in order to jumpstart their fundraising efforts.

Solutions

After working with the Blackmar Technologies team and identifying the needs they had for this project, we kept many of the major themes from their pre-existing identity system, while adding elements to the new one that would set it apart. In doing so, we were able to create a sense of continuity with their established brand, but also create a unique look.
